My son was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at 14 months old. He had put a piece of PB toast to his mouth and did not want it. He then had hives on his face and his eye was swollen after he rubbed it. That is as far as it went, thank goodness. Since then his SPT was positive, 15/32(not sure what this is) and his Immunocap was 4.18 KU/L.
After feeling like I was given a death sentence for him, I have educated myself on Peanut allergy and am becoming less fearful, not crying everyday and gaining control.
I try not to focus on outgrowing this, but it does happen. I have hope and faith.
Many readings by Robert Wood, John Hopkins and About.com state that levels under 5 are suggestive of outgrowing and so who knows, in october we will do another lab test to see.
My husband Derick and I have Ethan, 19 mos now and Garrett who is 4 1/2 years old.
That is alittle about us and I hope to talk with many of you moms for support because most people think it is not a big deal.
