Hi! I am new to the group...but not to the peanut allergy! My daughter had a reaction at 9 months old. She nearly died. Since that day, I have educated myself, my family, and anyone who would listen about this allergy. Taylor is now 13 and a wonderf…

I understand completely. I make many things from scratch. Just use unbleached flour - make sure there is no Lupine(I read there is relation b/t lupine and peanuts). I have not seen Lupine anywhere though. We use hershey's choc chips, and we have to…

I hear you. We are coping fine now, I guess. Wow, just being at the Childrens museum he must have touched something and put his fingers in his mouth or eyes. That is really scary. Can I clarify? When was his first diagnosis of a peanut allergy?

I'm in the same boat as of Apr23, 2009. my boy is 5. We at the children's meusem when it all went to hell in a hand basket , and then to the ER via ambulance.I KNOW I didn't give him any thing with nuts . Contact with residue they said was most likley the cause. I feel like I'm staring down the barrell, Learn it , Know ( like your baby's life depends on it ) then educate Everyone else. how are you copeing now ? cause i'm not doing well at all.

Profile Information

My son was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at 14 months old. He had put a piece of PB toast to his mouth and did not want it. He then had hives on his face and his eye was swollen after he rubbed it. That is as far as it went, thank goodness. Since then his SPT was positive, 15/32(not sure what this is) and his Immunocap was 4.18 KU/L.

After feeling like I was given a death sentence for him, I have educated myself on Peanut allergy and am becoming less fearful, not crying everyday and gaining control.

I try not to focus on outgrowing this, but it does happen. I have hope and faith.

Many readings by Robert Wood, John Hopkins and About.com state that levels under 5 are suggestive of outgrowing and so who knows, in october we will do another lab test to see.

My husband Derick and I have Ethan, 19 mos now and Garrett who is 4 1/2 years old.

That is alittle about us and I hope to talk with many of you moms for support because most people think it is not a big deal.
